PFLAG and PRIDE Festivities 2009
PFLAG looks forward to all the wonderful PFLAG participants from around the state joining us in the annual Seattle Pride Parade and Festival this year. We have already started planning and getting ready and we could use your help!

Pride Parade & Festival Information:

Pride Theme: Peace and Love = Equality
Parade Start Time: 11 am
*PFLAG's position in the parade: #38 - (Just behind Movin 92.5)

PFLAG Parade Marchers
Please make a note of these details if you plan on marching in the parade with PFLAG.
- When: Be there by 10 am [parade begins at 11 am]
- *Where: Starting point will be on 4th Ave - most likely between Spring and University
- Wear: Wear your Proud Purple PFLAG t-shirt or buy one there.
- Parade Volunteers needed to hand out "PFLAG Loves Me" stickers
[sticker trash must be dealt with along parade route]
[stickers are not allowed to be handed out @ Seattle Center per their rules]
- *Provisions: Marchers are responsible for bringing and
carrying their own drinks, sunscreen, etc. Water will *not* be provided
along the parade route as originally planned by SOAP. Please be prepared.
- Signs and Banners: Marchers may carry their own signs - political and commercial signs are not allowed per parade rules
- Float: No float this year, sorry
PFLAG Yakima may have some space available in a block of rooms at the Howard Johnson Hotel in SeaTac. If you plan on staying overnight on Saturday and may need accommodations please contact pflagyakima [at] yahoo.com or cougarlady88 [at] yahoo.com.
Booth Volunteers @ PrideFest
We are seeking booth volunteers to help with booth responsibilities at the Seattle Center. We ask that you volunteer in 2-hour increments. We could use help from set-up to take-down - 9 am through 8 pm. If you would like to be one of the happy faces meeting the pride audience at the PFLAG booth, please email us at pflag [at] seattle-pflag.org. We could use your help!

PFLAG will be selling their wildly popular purple PFLAG t-shirts at the parade again this year. We have sizes Small through XXX-Large and the cost is $15. We encourage you to pre-order your shirt now, please email pflag [at] seattle-pflag.org. |
